January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
This infographic from Ireland’s Bluebird Care gives some potentially preventative tips and insights into Alzheimer’s Disease of interest to seniors, their families, and caregivers – as well as the impacts to healthcare systems and countries that Alzheimer’s patients reside in. Did you know that although the prevalence of Alzheimer’s Disease is less than 1% between the ages of 60-65 years old, after age 65 – when “official” senior citizenship begins – the risk of Alzheimers doubles every 5 years? The prevalence of senior citizens age 86+ with Alzheimer’s is 50%.
