Many Older Canadians Do Not Fully Retire

older adults, older canadians, ctv news, stats canada study on seniors, retire early, retirement, silver and golden years According to recent CTV News article, a Stats Canada study (1994-2000) released in January showed that more than 50% of Canadians between the ages of 55-64 who left their jobs were working again within the next 10 years.

After all, with the average lifespan increasing steadily, what are you going to do if you retire early at age 55, or 65 for that matter? Even if you could afford to retire, what are you going to do – sit around for the next 30-40 years – or more?

Optimally, you’ll be in a position to plan ahead for retirement and your “silver and golden years” –  stay in shape and have the financial, mental, social, and physical means to enjoy a full retirement on your own terms, at the time that is right for you.
